Enameled Aluminum Strip

Insulated type enamelled aluminum wires

Insulated type enamelled aluminum wires is a metallic conductor insulated with a varnish and generally used for electrical applications. Also known as enamelled aluminum magnet wire, is a type of wire where the core conductor is made of aluminum and is coated with a thin layer of insulation. Similar to copper magnet wire, enamelled aluminum wire is used in various electrical applications that require efficient and reliable electrical conductivity.

Aluminum Conductor: The core conductor of the wire is made of aluminum, which is a lightweight metal known for its good electrical conductivity. Aluminum wires are commonly used in situations where weight reduction is a priority, such as in certain motors or lightweight electrical devices.

Enamel Insulation: The aluminum conductor is coated with a thin layer of enamel insulation. Enamel is a type of insulation material that can be made from different types of resins or varnishes. The enamel coating provides electrical insulation and protects the aluminum core from short circuits and environmental factors.

Thermal Class Rating: Like copper magnet wire, enamelled aluminum wire also has a thermal class rating. The thermal class rating indicates the maximum operating temperature that the wire's insulation can withstand over a prolonged period. Different enamels may have different thermal class ratings, typically ranging from Class 105 to Class 220, representing maximum operating temperatures of 105°C (221°F) to 220°C (428°F) respectively.

Enamelled aluminum wire is commonly used in applications such as motors, transformers, inductors, and other electrical devices where weight reduction, cost-effectiveness, and adequate electrical conductivity are desired. However, it's worth noting that copper wire is more commonly used for magnet wire applications due to its higher electrical conductivity.
