SWG 19 is a size decision, not only a keyword

SWG is a gauge system, and the buyer should not rely only on a gauge name when approving samples. The quotation should list the nominal bare conductor diameter, outside diameter after enamel, conductor resistance and tolerance. If the design was originally made with copper wire, the aluminum version may need a revised number of turns or a different coil window because aluminum has different conductivity and density.

For repair shops and distributors, SWG 19 is often stocked because it can serve repeated winding jobs. For OEM production, the same size must be tested on the actual winding machine. Pay attention to wire breakage, enamel dust, spool pay-off, coil resistance and terminal connection. These practical checks are often more useful than a beautiful certificate image.
