Nomex Paper Covered Aluminum Wire for Peru Transformers

Nomex paper covered aluminum wire for Peru transformers is selected for windings that need stronger thermal and dielectric insulation than a simple enamel-only conductor can provide. The aluminum conductor reduces weight and material cost, while the paper covering adds insulation thickness, mechanical protection and heat-resistant separation between turns or layers.

This product is different from general round enameled aluminum wire. The buyer must define both the conductor and the covering: aluminum size, conductor shape, paper type, wrapping overlap, insulation thickness, drying condition, spool or coil packing and the test standard. Why Nomex paper is used in winding insulation

Nomex aramid paper is valued in electrical insulation systems because it can help provide thermal endurance, dielectric strength and mechanical toughness. In a transformer or reactor winding, the paper covering separates conductors and protects the winding during bending, assembly and operation. The final insulation performance still depends on the whole system: paper, conductor, varnish or oil, drying process and coil design.

Winding and storage control

Paper covered wire should be protected from moisture and mechanical damage before winding. A clean package, sealed wrapping and clear batch label are important for export. During winding, the operator should avoid sharp guides and excessive tension that can shift or open the paper wrap. If the transformer process includes drying or impregnation, the sample approval should follow the same process planned for production.

A common problem is specifying only "Nomex paper wire" without defining covering thickness. This creates confusion because two suppliers can quote different insulation builds under similar wording. The purchase order should list conductor size, paper layers, overlap, outside dimension and dielectric requirement.
